  I am a member of First Baptist Church. I am married with two sons. We love the church and are active in the church. I am sorry Todd had this first impression of FBC (cold to the outsider, etc). I have heard this about our church before. Frankly, I am one of the insiders...so of course I am shown love at church. I am also a transplanted Yankee. I sought out this church about 8 years ago. I wanted to get involved so I did. My wife and I went church shopping before landing at FBC. We did not feel welcome at other churches (same as Todd) because the members had long relationships to share and had nothing in common with the newbies. To Todd (and others) I say...give each church a few visits before you label it cold and clique-ish.

  I recently visited this Church as a wedding guest. Little did this Church know that while I may have been there as a wedding guest I'm also doing a little Church looking. I've been looking for a place to call my church home. In this Church, I was treated like the red headed step child and never made to feel welcome. However, a member could walk up the same person and the love would pour out. It's like there is an inner circle here and unless you are part of it tough.
